HELP! Future soldier looking to join!

here's my situation.

i scored pretty well in the asvab and now have my pickings of the available mos in the army reserves.

pretty sure i'm shoe in, except for a minor detail.

You pussied out and realize with 2 days to ship out to boot camp, LOL, that you were going to be ordered around by drill instructors as they see fit? And I garauntee you wouldn't say that to any soldier's face. Your E- BALLS don't count in the real world.

Actually everything I said to you I already said to 3 drill sergeants, and one of them was a sergeant major. I'm not a good fit for the military because I can't play the role of someone's bitch. They got in my face and I got right back in theirs and that caused a whole bunch of problems with my recruiters. You however seem like you would be a good bitch for the military to use. I'm certainly not a pussy. Only a pussy would stand there and let a drill sergeant talk to them anyway they want, which you seem to be so willing to accept. Maybe you secretly love being dominated by men, who knows?

And then you became a witness and you couldn't see thru that BS?

Actually I left the witnesses only 4 months after be baptized, so I saw through it pretty quickly.

This is like the 5th major earthquake in 3 months!!! It's offical, the JWs are right. I will defenitley be returning just to play it safe. When all the earthquakes stop, I'll leave again, but until then I will be an active Jehovah's Witness. You can never be too cautious.

At 32 years of age, family man and rased in this country for most of my life, I'm well aware of the sacrafice I will have to make when I do sign up, including the deployment over seas.

Seems pretty selfish on your part. Your willing to die fighting a pointless war and leave your children fatherless all to help a country you weren't even born in steal oil from Iraq and take over Afghanistan.

I can see years of Watchtower indoctrination still haunts some of you with your hasty generalizations and quick to judge attitude.

Well that was a hasty general on your part. I actually signed up for the marines before I becamce a witness and was 2 days away from boot camp when I learned all the bs about the military and how they treat pawns soilders which made me change my mind.

Yes, I do belive I can contribute more to this coutry serving as a soldier

Or you can just leave and go back to whatever gutter trash third world country you came from and try to make that better. The last thing we need here is more dumb gun happy soilders killing inocennt people.

Thankfully, I "woke up" before making that horrible mistake and became a citizen with the complete unwavering allegiance and loyalty to the United State.

I think you might of hit the snooze button after that brief awakening because you are about to make a huge mistake. Serving in the military where you have absolutely no freedom and where your life has very little value is a lot worse than being a JW. I don't know how old you are or what country you're from, but just look at the most recent war where the United States invaded Iraq because of a lie and sent 1000s of Americans to fight an unnecessary war just so the US can gain control of Iraq's oil. If you join the military, you will be used as a pawn sent to die on the next unnecessary war just to make America slightly richer.

I don't believe in race. Race is something that was invited by Europeans in the 1600s during the slave trade. Neither the Bible nor any other ancient document ever mentions race. There is also no science to back up the idea of different races of human. It would like saying there are multiple races of cats because they all have different color fur.

What would this religion look like if.....Revelation was never included?

this would of couse wipe out 1914 and 1919.. since the wts like to use bible imagery to apply to them selves and modern times, that would basically just leave jesus' words and paul's and others letters .

I believe the fact that you can tie every major/false doctrine of the JWs to the Book Of Revelation is more proof that the the Book Of Revelation isn't inspired. Even if they didn't have the Book Of Revelation they would just use the terms "little flock" for 144k and "other sheep" for the "great crowd". As far as 1914 and 1919 is concerned, I never did understand those doctrines and even the book of revelation says nothing to support them.

I do wonder why there is nothing written about what happened to these ones who experienced death and then returned.

You don't expricence anything when you die. Jesus compared death to sleep. Lazarus would tell them the same, that death was like sleep.

Atheist: What words of comfort do you give when you find out someone is terminally ill?

i found out someone i know is terminally ill. before i would put my jw hat and give them comfort from the bible and the hope of resurrection.

but now that i dont believe in paradise nor in heaven what do you say to someone who is terminally ill and still has some religious beliefs?.

As an atheist I don't see how you can spin untimely death into something good or even have any words of comfort when you believe it's the end. Just tell them how you truly feel. Say to them that this is end of their life and they have absolutely no hope of ever living again or seeing any of their loved ones again. Remind them that their life has been cut short and there are so many things they always wanted to do but will now never experience. If they have small kids or grandkids, talk about how they'll never see them graduate school, get their first job, get married, have kids of their own, and any other happy life events we all look forward to. Don't forget to mention all the pain their death will cause the surviving family members, some of which may become depressed and end up using drugs or committing suicide or just having their lives completely destroyed from all the grief. Whatever you tell them, just make sure your being honest with the person who's ill and yourself.
